Professional Development in September.

The following is an outline of what Sullivan Heights is beginning the school year with.  This is our first Professional Development day and we want to start out with a vengeance. It is day of sharing of our skills and ideas, then the talent in our school will help others to begin their journey of learning. According to Primal Leadership by Daniel Goleman, it is the "fundamental task of a leader to create resonance at work, thereby unleashing positive traits and attributes in the people at work. To use the strengths of what you have, to get the people working with you to inspire, motivate and foster commitment in the people around them."  A great sign of leadership is using the strengths of the people around you, their passion, and there are so many passionate people in the Surrey School District but none as much as the people in this school.

So our plan is to share what we already are doing in our school and to help others in the school build their PLNs and start their journey of learning.  Please come with us as we start our learning planned for two years or more.  To your right are the different departments and what they are saying about their learning. Take care.  We begin in September and I for one am excited!!

People involved in the grant.

Our Leadership Grant group is on it's way with a list of people with research questions.  See below.  We're excited as well as anxious to begin.  Some of us are already on Twitter and plan to post observations of our findings in Twitter.  If interested we are creating a Sullivan Heights Twitter to follow, but most of us are going to tweet our finds as well individually.  Soon to come, in September, a list of Tweet names and web addresses of the participants in our voyage of learning and discovery.
